BURNLEY United's Under 13s have just brought the curtain down on a quite remarkable campaign.
The side completed the double-double, securing both the league and cup in the Accrington and District League and the Warburton Youth League.

They also secured both the Tesco Under 13s LFA Cup and Broden Lloyd Trophy, taking their seasonal tally to six trophies.

And not only that, but they also won all 78 of their matches over the course of the campaign.

They celebrated their achievements at the club's presentation evening at the Dugdale Arms.

And that represents a startling achievement for a side that was only formed five years ago.

Upon their inception, the team boasted no equipment, and even had to use jumpers for goal posts, as well as borrow a football.

But not only do the club now boast their own ground, they also have the use of a mini bus for all away games, with each side also able to provide players two new strips and tracksuits.

The Accrington and District League Cup was secured with a 4-0 win over Knuzden in the final, courtesy of goals from Vinny Licastri, Callum Hallinan, Jordan Lambert and Joel Melia.

And the Warburton League side did likewise with a 5-0 success over Nelson, with goals from Melia, Elliott Horner, Zac Beardsell, Alistair Brew and Matty West.

The club is self-financed, but like most clubs, rely heavily on sponsorship from local companies. Last season saw the strips and tracksuits sponsored by Gardner Aerospace of Burnley, and Tom Martin and Sons of Preston.
