Free ‘safari’ fun at Ribble Valley organic farm
The unique “hedgerow safaris” will start at 10-30 a.m., when safari leader Finley McLaren will take visitors on a journey of discovery, identifying plants and insects and hunting for the many animals and birds that live in the farm’s organic hedgerows. There will also be the opportunity to observe small mammals such as bank voles and field mice in their natural habitat.
The afternoon sessions will introduce visitors to the farm’s cows and rare breed pigs and anyone interested will be invited to try their hand at butter and cheese making. Everyone is welcome to bring a packed lunch and the farm will provide organic milk to accompany it.
