No go for Clarets over midfielder Adam
As revealed last month in Express Sport, Burnley boss Sean Dyche has targeted former Blackpool and Liverpool man Adam as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the Premier League season.
The 30-year-old Scotland international , who joined the Potters for a fee in the region of £4m in 2012 from Liverpool, made 25 appearances last term, scoring once in the penultimate game of the season against Crystal Palace.

Although happy at Stoke, the opportunity for more regular first team football in the Premier League, and a chance to remain in the north west, was believed to have been tempting for the player, but as reported at the time, Hughes isn’t actively looking to sell the player, who has two years remaining on his contract.
And Hughes has had his say on the matter “I think there was a little bit of interest in Charlie, but we haven’t encouraged that.
“Charlie is a part of what we are doing here moving forward, so that’s not a situation that will develop.”
